Chiropodists provide highly effective treatments for all foot problems in adults and children.
Their broad scope of practice benefits patients since the practitioners have the training and capability to draw on a wide range of therapies to most effectively diagnose and address problems. As Registered Chiropodists, they are licensed to perform "regulated" or "controlled" acts ranging from advanced foot medical techniques to soft tissue surgery, biomechanical assessments (the science of body movements), gait analysis, and the prescription and provision of custom orthotics. They are also your trusted source for problem and routine nail care and diabetic foot care.
Chiropody services at the clinics offering foot care are covered by most private health insurance plans, WSIB, and Veterans Affairs Canada. They are not covered by OHIP.
